SharePoint has a pre-built webpart that can be configured to show the current persons most recently modified and/or created files on the current site.  This webpart is called Relevant documents:

 

Add and configure relevant documents web part

1. Go to the page you want to add this webpart to, click the edit option to edit the page.

2. Insert the Relevant Documents webpart from the Content Rollup Category.

3.  Edit the Web Part

4.  Change the title to something more descriptive like ‘My Recent Files’ or ‘Files recently modified by Me’

4.  In the Data section, select which files you want to show and the number of files to show (the web part does not page), when finished click OK to save the web part.
